Introduction
As part of my work at Storydoc, I was responsible for designing a wide range of interactive presentation templates and slides tailored for various business scenarios - such as pitch decks, proposals, sales decks, reports and many more. My role combined content strategy and visual design, where I defined the structure of each template, determined the key elements that should be included to serve its specific purpose, and ensured visual consistency across all components.
Each template required a unique approach - while a proposal template needed a persuasive and structured narrative, a pitch deck demanded concise, investor-focused storytelling. I also created visual assets and user-facing content that guided users through crafting impactful presentations.

The User Struggle
Creating effective business presentations is often a time-consuming and tedious task for users, many of whom lack the time, design skills, or content-writing experience to do it efficiently. Storydoc users needed a quicker, smarter way to create high-quality presentations without starting from scratch. The challenge was to take as much of the workload off the users as possible, from both a design and content perspective, by offering ready-made, visually appealing templates and guided content generation through AI prompts. Users also often didn’t know what content to include in specific types of presentations. My job was to solve that for them upfront.
The Solution
To address this challenge, I designed a comprehensive library of pre-built templates and interactive slides tailored to different presentation goals. I created each template based on research, best practices, and real-world examples - making sure that each slide had a clear purpose and contributed to a logical flow. I collaborated closely with the product and development teams to continuously test and refine the templates for usability and performance. By incorporating user data and feedback, I was able to iterate quickly and release updates that directly reflected user needs.
In addition, I developed AI-driven content prompts for each template and slide type. These prompts were context-sensitive and adjusted dynamically based on user inputs in the presentation wizard. This allowed users to generate tailored content without needing to know exactly what to write. It provided a highly personalized experience and reduced the effort needed to create compelling presentations. Users no longer had to wonder what makes a good pitch deck or business report - the structure, design, and even content guidance were already built-in.

Results & Insights
Working on these templates taught me a lot about how people process and interact with information, especially in long-form formats like reports or business overviews. I became more aware of eye-tracking patterns and how users typically scan rather than read, which helped me design layouts that guide attention more effectively. I also learned how to break down complex content into smaller, manageable chunks to make it more digestible. This experience sharpened my understanding of content hierarchy and information architecture, and showed me how thoughtful design can turn dense material into something approachable and engaging.
As a result, translating user needs into scalable, reusable design solutions helped improve the overall product experience and contributed to increased conversion rates for the company.
